QuadTech Calibration Services versus A Local Calibration House
There is a difference! Calibration is a procedure and/or adjustment that is performed on an instrument to insure it meets the original published specifications. Verification is a procedure that determines if the instrument meets specifications at some selected points. For example, when QuadTech tests its LCR meters, we first perform a calibration. This procedure brings the instrument closer to the original specification. Most small calibration laboratories cannot afford the "calibration standards" required to calibrate our instruments, therefore, what they perform is only a verification. If the unit is out of "spec," they return it to you or may call QuadTech for repair. In any event, valuable time and money is wasted. QuadTech has invested both time and capital to automate our verification and calibration procedures. When we calibrate and verify an instrument we use a variety of inductance, capacitance and resistance standards. We also test a variety of frequencies and test voltages. The 7600 Model B, for example, is tested at approximately 2500 points to verify its operations. At QuadTech, we calibrate and verify - you should not have to settle for less.
