On September 19th, QuadTech announced the addition of three new Hipot Testers to its popular Guardian family of instruments. Designed for R&D and bench top environments, the Guardian 1000 series offers a large graphical display, built-in scanner (1030S), high AC charging current to 30mA and many more standard features. Measurements of Dielectric Constant and Loss
Need to measure the dielectric constant of a solid or liquid material? Helpful Tips on Measuring Capacitance
Capacitors - a basic element of almost every electronic circuit. So common a component yet comprised of such varied materials and designed for specific applications. What is the best way to measure a capacitor? Factors submitted for your consideration: the material, measurement mode, connection to device under test, temperature, test frequency and test signal level.
Hipot Testing of Motors and Safety Standard Compliance
Hipot testing is a necessary component of safety testing motors and/or motor subsystems. Specific product compliance testing is regulated by such standards as UL 1004, "Electric Motors". Check out this app note for a discussion of dielectric withstand, maximum/minimum current detection, arc current detection, insulation resistance and ground bond measurements.

Roberto brings extensive technical knowledge and people related skills to represent and sell QuadTech and other lines of instrumentation.
Roberto Hernandez's background includes 20 plus years of technical experience. His experience includes Automated Test (ATE), Product & Production Engineering, power supply testing, test fixture design, production burn-in and final test. In addition, Roberto Hernandez has held management positions in Product & Test Engineering Management. Roberto Hernandez holds a Masters Degree in Electronic Engineering.
